Book Summary: Stella has to date someone in order to get more followers and maintain a successful career as a social media influencer. Christian is the perfect option, smart, wealthy, attractive. Only, he’s hiding something, and soon their “fake relationship” starts to feel not so fake at all…
Book Review: I did enjoy the overall concept of this series: four different girls’ love stories and four different tropes. I just don’t love Ana Huang’s writing. The characters in this particular book felt more shallow than the others, and the chemistry felt a little forced. I thought that Stella’s life without Christian was more interesting than her life with Christian. All four of these books, despite being different characters and having different tropes, all felt weirdly similar and extremely cringy.
Quotes: Since I couldn’t find any good quotes, here are some that made me laugh (at the book not with it). “She had no idea who I was an what I was capable of.” “The predatory grace with which he moved reminded me of a panther lazily stalking his prey.” “The powerful masculine form draped insouciantly beneath me, like a panther at rest after a long hunt.” “You taste… like mine.”
Spoilers: Christian felt a little douchey to me. The only part of this book I really liked was the relationship between Stella and Maura. It felt sincere, whereas the Stella and Christian relationship felt slightly forced. Here is my overall ranking of the books in this series: Girls: Boys: 1. Jules 1. Josh 2. Bridget 2. Rhys 3. Stella 3. Christian 4. Ava 4. Alex Books: 1. Twisted Hate 2. Twisted Lies 3. Twisted Games 4. Twisted Love
