The Drowner

Author: John D MacDonald
Genre: Mystery
Pages/Length: 227 pages

★★★☆☆ 2.9 stars

Book Summary:
Lucille Hanson drowned, right? Yes, she was an excellent swimmer, but it was a tragic accident. Or was it suicide? The pieces just aren’t adding up and ex-cop Paul Stanial is determined to get to the bottom of it, and he refuses to believe it’s anything other than murder.

Book Review:
I found this book to be a fun, light easy read that was actually well written, especially compared to the modern mystery books that are popular today. The descriptions were vivid and the imagery was strong made the deaths even more chilling. Despite it being written in 1996 it still felt surprisingly modern and relevant today.
