Thomas wakes up in a strange place with a bunch of strange boys and no memories aside from his own name. Only, the strange place is actually a giant maze and they need to find a way out, fast, because people are dying and the Ending is coming…

Book Review:
I’ve heard really great things about this book but unfortunately it didn’t meet my expectations. It was definitely interesting, but a lot of things were really random and far fetched. It was entertaining though. I also liked the characters.

Quotes:
“Ben screamed then, without pause, a sound so piercing that Thomas covered his ears. It was a bestial, lunatic cry, surely ripping the boy’s vocal cords to shreds.”
“…a new kind of pain he’d never felt before filled his insides-an ill, disturbed pain; it felt worse than the physical kind.”
“Nausea burned in his stomach-the squishing of the goo against his body, the smell, the circling motion.”

Spoilers:
A lot of things just felt random and far fetched to me. Like, what is the point of Teresa being a girl? How does putting these boys in an unsolvable maze measure their intelligence? What’s the point in killing them? If the maze is unsolvable, why does it spell out the right code (doesn’t that mean it is solvable)? Why WICKED? How to they control the boys’ brains? Why a maze of all things? What’s with the beetles things? I did like the characters, though. Chuck’s death was really sad.
